Running it a 4.5 GHz with absolutely no heat build up whatever. Programs that maxed my old Pentium PC now run with under 12% CPU performance.

Its fast, really fast. Software is always 2-3 years behind the hardware so I am hopeful that code will be updated to maximize the potential of this processor.

I am comming from a Core 2 Quad 6600 so its a nice little speed improvement. Proof that processor does not make the gaming system, the GPU does.

Processor was easy to install and compatible with many LGA1150 motherboards. The K line of processors is intended for overclocking enthusiasts, so I can only assume it is well made but more expensive. It comes with a low profile heat sink as do most (perhaps all?) boxed processsor chips. If you think (as I did) that you'll also need an expensive after-market cooler, that may not be the case. The chip supports dual channel memory and at least up to 64GB RAM.Overall, I researched what I wanted and got what I expected. No complaints.

After having a laptop with a 1.5 gHz processor in it, this is one of the best things I bought. It runs nice and I still have no quarrels with it after a month of heavy use.

Simply one of the best CPUs on the market. Huge single-thread performance (tops cpubenchmark) and overclocking capabilities make this chip a winner.
Box includes a cooler, but throw it away.

Best 1150 CPU your money can buy right now, Gaming + Streaming never goes over 11% CPU utilization. That's playing games on ultra and streaming 60fps @ 720p without a dedicated capture card. Using a Corsair h100i closed loop liquid cooler CPU temps never exceed 38c. I Recommend this to anyone that is trying to determine to either go with the cheaper i5 or this, GO WITH THIS i7!

Very, very fast.Important note: I don't recommend the stock cooler - buy a good one, like Noctua, otherwise at 4.0 GHz, it will easily get very hot.

This beast of a CPU is a must have for system builders looking for one of the best productivity values out there. However, stess testing this CPU can make it heat up like crazy. I did some digging around and found a lot of other people are having the same trouble. The best solution I've found is to use Intel Extreme Tuning utility to limit the max turbo boost power at 88W, Turbo boost short power max at 110W, Turbo boost power time window at 8 seconds, and the Processor current limit to 105 A. With this tweak i was able to keep the max temperature at 67C on the hottest core over a 30 min prime 95 torture test using a Corsair H100i cooler.
