Runs great and combined with Cooler Master Hyper 212 Evo, I never have any issues with heat. Instructions are straight forward if you never built your own system before. Its pretty simple to match gold arrow marked corner with the one on the motherboard and careful set the chip in to avoid bending any pins.

I like the i-7 for doing big complicated projects--especially for rendering home movies. When processing-time/high-volume matters there is nothing like using one of the best processors available! I found this one to be a good balance between cost and performance.

Just purchased in August of 2016 and she is still fast af. I thought about getting the new 1151 socket but just didn't see the cost/ benefit ratio as being worth it. Even though this processor is unlocked for overclocking I have yet to feel the need to do so as the 4.0 ghz has been fast enough for everything I have thrown at it so far.

I don't think you can go wrong with this cpu. I built 2 systems with these and the speed is great. I'm not a gamer or a tweak nut looking for the last nanosecond of performance, but for my occasional graphics, video editing, programming/compiling and just multipurpose jacking around, this is the chip for me.
