Best upgrade of my life. I went from a fx-6300 with a GIGABYTE motherboard to this processor paired with a Z97 MSI gaming 5 with a h100i gtx and it was no regret. Perfect for higher demanding programs and multitasking with multiple screens.

Runs pretty smoothly when playing the DEI mod of RTW2 on max settings with 10k men. It does have occasional unexplained hiccups that I think are attributable to the CPU. So far the temps are in the 30-50 range most of the time.

Upgraded from an i5-3570k, had to get a new motherboard aswell due to the LGA socket change from LGA1155 to LGA1150.Overall a very solid processor, getting a lot better FPS in high resource using games such as arma.Another reason why i buy intel!

I used to try and avoid more CPU-dependent games like MMORPGs, high-volume online games, and open world games with large amounts of rendering. I am writing this review on my multi-media rig. I am a casual gamer, digital illustrator, typical web surfer, film buff, and novice game-streamer on Twitch. Granted, I invested money into my motherboard, fans, gpu, sound card, etc.- this cpu makes the most sense for price to performance. I built my own rig- and it is a beast. This cpu handles all I throw at it with grace. I'm sure there are better cpus in the X99 platforms- but seriously, look at how expensive the platform is and the gains are hardly noticeable to the average consumer. If you are a gamer, surfer, streamer, and average enthusiast- this is all you need.

Kix arse, Been running since day one O'ced to 4.5 Ghz. Runs smooth on Gigabyte board and air cooled. Also Samsung EVO SSD, When I push the power button, I'm on the desktop in 18 seconds, I used to have to go make coffee and wait for old PC AMD Phenom 965 to get there.

. Temps under stress tests hit the high 60's, and temps during heavy gaming (crysis 3, FC4 ect) rarely exceed 55c. This CPU slices through games.

Bought the CPU after having a laptop with an i7 2.4ghz, this one smokes. I added the 212 evo fan to this cpu and it stays cool. When I overclock, it does get warm, I managed to pull off 4.7 but backed down to 4.4 because I did not feel the need to push a new CPU like that.If you're going to get into gaming, this is one to buy.

Always gets the job done whether it's rendering video or playing games, haven't found anything it can't handle yet. Overclocks great, definitely enthusiast grade. The stock CPU cooler that it comes with isn't that great. There are many other options that I'd highly recommend looking into. If you're going to spend $250+ on a CPU then it is worth making sure it is properly cooled. The Hyper 212 Evo, Noctua DH-N15, Corsair H100i, and Kraken X61 are popular options all with their own pros and cons. Lots of information available on all of them.
