So far this processor is running well in a large system which hosts more that 1000 HD movies, 200 TV series and over 20,000 songs. Running at stock speed nothing phases this Proc. I'm not a gamer so can't report on gaming performance. I can say that it's faster than my previous AMD FX Octa core processor that this replaced.

This is an amazing processor. It is everything I hoped it would be. Extremely fast. Boots to Windows 7 Pro in 8 seconds. Great for overclocking. That is why I bought it. Hit 5.0Ghz with only having to up the voltage to 1.35v on a Asus Maximus VII Hero motherboard. Needs water cooled if you plan to overclock and push it. Using a EK EVO waterblock with a Swiftech H220 reservoir and pump to keep it cool. If you are thinking about buying this processor. Go for it! You won't be disappointed!

Not much here to be able to add to what already has been written about this wonderful CPU, but I can only echo the comments of others. This CPU is a real powerhouse both in speed and in processing capability. As this CPU runs pretty hot when fully loaded, anyone who uses this CPU to it's full capability will simply need to get another cooling solution beyond what is supplied in the Intel box, or you will experience thermal throttling due to the high temperatures generated. While this CPU can be easily overclocked by a Z97 Motherboard, it really does not have a lot of headroom for extreme overclocking. The current speed of 4.0 to 4.4 GHz is very fast as is. A really significant overclock to 4.8 GHz or better will require a serious investment in custom water cooling, or you have a very rare CPU. As for me, the CPU is fantastic at 4.4 GHz, and not sure I have a need to get any more speed out of it. I am using an old Enzotech Extreme CPU air cooler, testing with AIDA 64 Extreme to stress the CPU, and I am getting about 68 C average temperature out of the CPU at full load, at 1.18 Volts Core. Ummmm.....maybe I will tweak it up a bit. Happy Computing...!!!

Very speedy chip that served as a nice drop-in replacement for an i5 in one of my systems. It handles everything I throw at it with relative ease, and frankly it's hard to find any fault with it. I haven't overclocked it yet, but at 4.0GHz stock/4.4GHz turbo, I'm not exactly compelled to do so. That said, the stock cooler does run a bit noisy during high intensity workloads, so I'm planning to replace it with an aftermarket cooler soon.
