I upgraded to this processor from my i5 4670k in my msi z87-g45 motherboard i overclocked to 4.8 with no problem using 1.31 core volts. I bought this for the extra threads because i use virtual machines and do a lot of video transcoding. It runs the way I expected and I'm very happy with my purchase.

The performance on stock is phenomenal! I am very disappointed with my chip as I couldn't overclock hardly at all. It required too much voltage way too early. It couldn't even handle a 200 MHz boost. I expect better when I purchase a K version product.

I am running this daily OC'd 4.7ghz using a Corsair H100. Processer can easily hit 4.8 - 5ghz if you are using custom water cooling, but your not going to hit above 4.7 stable with any retail cooler and defiantly not with air, even the Noctua. Dollar for Dollar this is a great buy and a beast of a processor. If your not looking to spend more than $300 on a processor than this should be your one and only choice.
