Used this to build a gaming PC. This thing coupled with 16 gigs of RAM and a GX980 video card has been pretty sweet.

This processor is a beast! Without getting one of Intel's extreme processors this processor is by far the fastest gaming processor money can buy. It pretty much comes pre-overclocked. If you are an overclocking enthusiast you might want to check if this is truly your bottleneck because I haven't found a way to bottleneck this processor yet that isn't simply a prime number generator. The only con with this processor is that you should check your motherboards compatibility as I have an MSI GD65 z87 and when upgraded from a i5 4670k my pc no longer could reboot (only turn off then turn back on independently.)

Just built a system for a customer with one of these 4790k's coupled to the Asus Sabertooth Mark 2 Z97, pretty fast at stock 4.4ghz with the turbo, easily does 4.7ghz, with decent temps, but not as cool running as my 4690k.I generally only recommend i7's to customer's who run multiple programs at a time, run several resource hogging programs\ apps, do lots of video editing, etc. Honestly the 4690k will do all of that^, and not far behind 4790k. As far as video/physics benchmark suites go(firestrike), the 4790k scored a mear +1100 points higher than the 4690k in physics score.

Its a processor, nothing super special. Speedy I suppose, works fine.
