Works great with ASUS SABERTOOTH MARK 2. I flashed the bios via USB before booting up my new build. Love it! It is the fastest desktop that I have ever owned. Love it! Used a Noctua NH-U12S air cooler in the build. Receiving excellent temps fairly constant around 27 degrees Celsius. Quality build! Very satisfied!

Normally am an AMD fan. Decided to go intel, replacing a t1055 6 core. so far it is highly impressive!

This is a nice fast processor. I put it through it's paces today ripping 12 DVD's to the hard drive and encoding those rips, and watching a video while waiting for it to finish, all at the same time. CPU was at 100% for a good 3 hours while I was working and didn't break a sweat.

Purchased for a new PC build for film editing and other content creation. Also gaming. It has handled everything that I've thrown at it, especially with a GTX 980 paired to it. I used the one-click overclock on my ASUS motherboard bios and got it to 4.4 and run it on a daily with no problems. I initially wanted a 6 or 8 core processor for film editing purposes but didn't want to end up spending too much more than what I already was. And I got this for $30 off. So far it has worked great. I'll still end up upgrading to a 6 or 8 core CPU at some point but this will do just fine in the mean time.

I was surprised that it had a small fan for a core i7 processor but i've been using it for some weeks now and it looks like everything's working ok, also it came with thermal paste on the cpu which is a plus. I currently run Need For Speed Hot Pursuit on it with all settings high and I'm using only my on board graphics card and it plays beautifully no lag no stuttering with game play whatsoever,... It doesn't feel like it's living up to it's name though when i run Flight Simulator X, (if you don't now about Flight Simulator X it's a flight simulator, but it's a really good game that can test your pc limits),... Some areas of the world with a lot of scenery still has low fps but keep in mind i still don't have a graphics card besides the on board one, so maybe that's why! I'm not very technical about computers but in a nutshell I believe it deserves 4 stars because it is far better than anything i've ever had but not as good as i thought it would be! For $300 USD

The 4790k is a beast. This processor is must-buy. However, be sure to purchase an after-market heat-sink. The stock heat-sink (for me atleast) was unusable. Under full load at 4GHz, the temperatures increased above 90C within 20 seconds with the sock heat-sink. I may have mounted it poorly though. I'm now using a CM 212 Evo to cool it with the temperatures for all cores maxing at about 54C under full load at 4GHz.
