I love this thing! Pretty sure I won't need to worry about upgrading my CPU anytime soon. Install was easy although I didn't even try using the supplied cooler. I had it sitting under a Corsair Hydro h105 and it stays around 32*C with web browsing, watching HD video, music, and Office use. When playing Diablo 3, it will hit 50*C. Tomb Raider on maxed out graphic settings see 60*C and it runs SMOOOOOOTH. I'm sure temps get higher during some of the more intense scenes but I haven't seen it happen yet. I have it overclocked at 4.4ghz and run PNY GTX 770 OC with it. I only have the cooler plus 2 intake+1 exhaust fans moving air in a mid-tower. I will probably get one more higher RPM fan just for piece of mind though.

This processor is really a beast. I used to have a really bad one which only offered my 2.9 GHZ, and it was a Dual core. Of course such a processor was a massive upgrade, now games and apps no longer lag in anyway and they launch as soon as I click the icons. The 4790k is really good when compared to other processors specially the 4770 since Intel improved the heat management in this chip giving you more overclocking potential.

I kept my old computer running waaaay past its good by date (2004 HP with a P4). When I finally decided to build a gaming rig I had to have an i7 and I'm glad I waited until the 4790K came out. Its just a monster. If you need a quad core intel...be nice to your future self and get this instead of an i5.

This is a great CPU, but it runs hot. Be aware that you will have to get an aftermarket cooler as the stock one Intel sends just does not work even if you do not overclock this CPU.
