  Runs everything maxed at ultra, doesn't even break 20% load in the most demanding games. Must have for high end gamers. AMD babies go cry.

  This is a fantastic processor with great ability for over clocking, if you wish to do that. Having said that, it is so powerful that all but the most ardent gamers may never see a need to over clock. This thing purrs like a kitten, and because it is Haswell based, has very good onboard graphics support, and runs much, much cooler than earlier processors due to its 22 micron manufacturing process. Although it isn't exactly cheap, it is in relationship to earlier processors which were much, much more expensive with only a fraction of the power, and churning out so much heat you needed six fans in a case to keep it running. This one barely notches up by Noctua cooling fan hardly ever because its so cool running.And speaking of fans, even though I have the Noctua fan for its near silent operation, I was surprised that the supplied cooling fan that comes with this processor is surprisingly quiet. In fact, if you are not too picky, you might not need to replace the stock fan at all due to its quietness. (Be careful not to touch the boom of the fan mount, as it comes pre-pasted with thermal paste; you don't want to get you fingers on it before you mount in on the CPU).So, I can easily recommend this terrific processor for its performance, price, and cool operation.   I built a new performance desktop and used this processor. It has plenty of power so I didn't even bother to overclock it, just leaving it in turbo mode. I don't have a problem with it over heating either, so I think the prior Haswell heat problems might be fixed with the refresh. I have been amazed at the speed of it when decoding and encoding video.We use Amazon for most of our purchases and I update my reviews if anything changes with the products. I do this so other Amazon users can get a real feel for the life of the product. I am not associated with any company and all opinions are my very own.

  This is a beast. Paired with water cooling on ASRock Extreme6, it just flies and stays cool. Haven't gotten into heavy oc yet, but may not need to except for fun. Renders video amazingly fast. Replaced an i7-860 on p7p55d-e, that I though was fast :)

  Pros: Fast huge upgrade too old amd cpu/system can finally play all my games on ultra/high installed easy works great with evga z97 ftw mobo and evga 970ftw also got 1000w supernova evga PSU. cooled cpu with corsair h50 haven't seen temp higher than 50c haven't benchmarked tho.Cons: Stock fan is junk saving for emergency backup but yea dont buy it if your not gonna get watercooling

  Not much to say, it's a beast. Wish I could have got the six core, but just can't justify the price difference, especially since I do my heavy lifting in the GPU.
