I've already written a review for this on Newegg so I'll keep it short.Pros:4 cores with hyperthreading8 MB cache4.0 GHz base clockGreat potential to overclockRuns cool under a watercoolerCons:Price, still $340 after almost 3 years?Slightly slower than SkylakeThoughts:I upgraded from a 4690k to stream and game simultaneously, I see little to no difference in gaming performance from my 4690k to my 4790k. So if you're only gaming don't waste money on an i7. Also, this chip needs way more voltage to reach 4.8GHz than my i5. The i5 only needed 1.26v, this needs 1.35v. I got lucky with my i5 on the silicon lottery.

This CPU is incredible. CPU core 1.248 V, 4.7 GHz -stable as can be. Cooler Master 212. Max CPU load CPU sits around 130F - 145F depending on room temp. I use this CPU for CFD analysis - disabled Hyper threading and it churns out the iterations even with a 10 million cell count!!! Highly recommend. You will not be disappointed.

Does what it's supposed to do. I wish it ran a little cooler, though. Did not use the fan cooler that came with the CPU. Instead: Cooler Master Technology Inc. Hyper 212 EVO.

I got this on Newegg because they were always out on Amazon. I upgraded from an AMD FX 8370 to the 4790k. I have 32 gigs of ram, GTX 1060 6gig graphics card. Really only saw about a 8-10% difference. I spent about 480 dollars for the processor and new motherboard. Not really worth it tbh. I would of rather spent the money on a better graphics card like the GTX 1070 since it's a big jump in gpu performance.

Comes pre thermal pasted. Didn't expect a heat sync fan top come with it so I bought a third party one. Didn't need it.

Buy an aftermarket cooler and this CPU is fantastic. Got it overclocked to 4.5 stable with no issues.
