It looks great, the keys have good resistance, and makes a satisfying clicking noise when you use it. It even has a number pad! I live in a college dorm so I knew something was going to get spilled on this keyboard eventually. When coffee did get spilled on it, I just rinsed it off as per the instructions and it looks new weeks later. I love this keyboard!!!
You might wonder how do they make it washable - is it a flat sheet or what? It has keys that move up and down, just like any conventional keyboard. The difference is that most keyboards have a big cutout that they keys go down into when you press them. That cutout also holds lots of dust and who knows what. On this keyboard the surface beneath the keys is flat except for each key's post, which rises up out of the surface and there must be some springy mechanism in that post that allows each key to travel down to the surface and back up to the top of the post. It feels to me like a normal keyboard. There is no slope to this keyboard - all keys are the same height. I like that, but some may not.
UPDATE : In 2014 I bought this same keyboard here on amazon for $29.00 BUT when I went to buy another one for my other computer and WOW ! OMG! $ 74+ for the same thing I bought 3 yrs ago for 29.00. THAT CRAZY !
Ok maybe not the blind, but the white keys with the black lettering stand out perfect and the feel of the k board is awesome.
small front print, reliable and tough. NO MORE spills to kill my keyboard. YEAH ! Perfect key board for any shop, student or old man like me who spills his coffee. LOL. The wife says I should have purchased this keyboard the first time around and it would have save me hundreds $$$$.
Been using this keyboard for 3 days at work. It is moderately quiet and types well. I like the style of the board and the fact that it keeps clean without stuff getting between the keys. I like the way the keys feel when I type. I would recommend this keyboard to others if you are looking for a solid product that ypes well and a keyboard that stays clean . I have yet to use any type of water on this.
***UPDATE***
After a week the keyboard's keys started to not respond while I was typing and I had to wait for it to start to respond again before I could finish what I was typing. Very irritating when I am in a hurry and need to get stuff done at work. I did end up returning the keyboard in the end.
Does everything that you would expect. Used it now for about 8 week with zero issues. Would have given 5 stars but I think I would have liked this as a wireless option more
Having the ability to rinse and wash this keyboard is utterly amazing. Some keyboards get so dirty you just plain dont wanna use them anymore. This one you can clean easily with a little ward water! Highly recommended
I hate to say this about myself but I spend way too much time in front of my computer. So much so that sometimes when I'm eating my favorite sandwich the crumbs get lodged in between the keys on my keyboard. To find a simple solution I come to the one stop outlet for all my problems, Amazon.com This keyboard is exactly what I was looking for. It comes with a little brush to sweep out any pesky crumbs attached to the bottom of the keyboard. It's very slim and the keys are an island type as to avoid buttons getting stuck. My favorite thing about it though is the fact that you can actually run it under water to wash it. I mean, if you spill syrup or soda on this bad boy, you just unplug it and wash it. Let it sit for like an hour or so to dry, and bam! good as new!
Definitely worth the investment for those of us out there that have a hard time keeping our food in our mouths!
I have been looking for this keyboard for years. Keys that show up so you can see them without a light on, totally washable so far,. I have destroyed so many keyboards it's not funny.
I absolutely recommend this keyboard 100%.
Finally a keyboard I don't have to worry about getting dirty. The keys are comfortable and I type a lot. I got this on a Black Friday special and it is well worth what I paid for it.
This is a simple yet awesome key board. Has everything I want in a key board plus the waterproof feature is awesome. I broke my last one by spilling water on it 4 different times. definitely get this key board.
Yep, weirdest, wanna bet? Got this keyboard because our Quaker Parrot, Mongo, was taking the keys out of the regular one. Impossible to keep him from stealing the keys, a couple were stripped so they didn't even click in anymore. Looked for a bird-proof keyboard to no avail. Remember being impressed a few years ago by the rubber-like roll up keyboards and started looking. The rubber ones would probably work the best, but the reviews weren't very inspiring. Hard to press, repeats, etc. Not great for playing games. This one can be put under running water (couldn't even imagine) without damage. Keys are not coming out. Ok, if I let Mongo have his way with the keyboard I am positive he could find a way. At least break them if nothing else. But, he doesn't have quite that opportunity. The keys feel about the same as a regular keyboard. There are some keys that are absent (or placed differently), but nothing that I can't get used to. So, if you have a medium sized bird that likes to steal keyboard keys and fly away with them, making you chase him while he laughs hysterically (ok, I'm presuming), consider this keyboard. Working great, except for the finger malfunctions (can I blame that on a new keyboard? Sure, why not.) get this one.
UPDATE (3/22/14): Ok, Mongo succeeded in pulling off the key with a squiggly line on it (used for Spanish over vowels/under the Esc key). I stuck it back on, but he kept pulling it. Then, lo and behold, I got a great fix for it. Superglue. Yep, superglue. Turns out the keys have a thin piece of plastic underneath that fit into a slot inside the keyboard. A drop of glue on the 'dimples' on the side of the key, snap into the slot, and we have a very perturbed Quaker Parrot. Not to mention a fully functional, intact keyboard. Oh, and seed shells come right out, even when they are stuck under the key itself. Just tilt and tap. So very happy with this keyboard.
I've spilled too many drinks into my keyboard. Instead of learning from my mistakes and stopping drinking at my desk, I bought this keyboard. I like the look and feel of the keyboard. I am used to a low profile Mac keyboard, and the keys on this are more raised than that, but still lower profile then a mechanical keyboard. I didn't find this unpleasant to type on. It's fairly quiet, too. I am using it with a Mac computer, and it works just fine. It's not a Mac keyboard layout, so that might be confusing for some people, but as far as I can tell, all the keys work. (And I think there are ways to re-map keys, if you want.)
The only thing I miss with this keyboard is the extra USB ports that my Mac keyboard had, so I have to plug my mouse into the back of my computer. (Not a big deal now that I invested in a USB hub.) I am sure that would make it harder to waterproof, though. I also wish that this did come in a Mac keyboard, too.
Now all I need is an excuse to try washing it.
Our home office is directly above our commercial coffee roasting machine downstairs. So the gunk from the coffee smoke gets up here and onto our keyboards. We each had 2 of the wonderful Logitech Illuminated Keyboards which really spoiled us to use these new ones. But the gunk got to them and eventually they lost keys and we had to do something more practical. So we found these and they can be washed and cleane and that is why we chose them. They are nice, but the feel is like night and day compared to that other more expensive and beautiful model. But I like the visual look of black with white keys, unusual, and the keys stick out great, and they're small and compact. They are just what we needed. I think they will last a lot longer than the other ones we had. I would recommend these to someone looking for a really good and practical keyboad and/or someone who likes to eat while at the computer! No worries man, just wash them gooey food crumbs off of them!
I like the keys a lot; in fact i'm typing this review on it right now. If you like a springy feeling key this is your keyboard. I originally bought one for my grandfather (who like to eat his bagel and coffee while checking email and news in the morning at the computer) and then liked it so much I bought a second one. Fast ship, great product (can't beat Logitech). I Would absolutely recommend this to anyone. Completely full functioning and I have washed mine once just because I could and I haven't had any issues with it so far. Just make sure you allowing it time to dry, maybe wash it and let it sit overnight. I don't remember exactly what the directions said but this is just what I think is best for it, since you don't normally wash electronics.
