Love this processor but can run hot. I have an aftermarket heatsink and the temperatures run up to 75-80 in the summer while under load. In cool room conditions it runs around 65.
A little bit old at the time of this writing, but its still incredibly powerful, will run pretty much anything for at least 4 years, and by then I plan on upgrading my entire build by then anyways.
This really is a brilliant processor for the money, I'll have to admit this is far overpowered for what I need so I'm hoping it will last a long time - which it looks like it will do. No complaints at all regarding functionalityA few negatives for me are the other products in the box. To put it bluntly the cooler is terrible: it's a small, cheap and crappy excuse for a cooler designed for a higher end processor. It seriously looks like Intel went to a Chinese knock-off supplier and then went yeah f*** it, that will do . I know that most of the heatsink provided are made to do the job, but from a higher end processor with unlocked cores I expected so much more. I purchased a heatsink seperately.Another thing I can't understand is the crappy instructions provided. The installation protocol should have made more sense on paper so that anyone can easily understand regardless of experience. I am used to using AMD processors (which use a different installation method) so I have some experience, but I could not make much sense of the instructions provided.
I use it for gaming, photo and video editing. I've never had a single problem with it. Max temps are usually 62-65 at max load with my H100i GTX cooler. Would recommend to anybody needing a great CPU.
